The lower Omo is reached through Arba Minch and Jinka. Weekly markets in places such as Dimeka and Key Afer are the honest way to see the region: trade, not a staged village. Communities including Hamar, Mursi, and others live here, and photography has a fee set locally. Pay it, and ask before you raise a camera.
Roads are slow after rain. Plan nights in Jinka and Arba Minch rather than expecting a hotel in every village. A guide who knows the market day calendar is worth more than an extra photo stop.
